Monday 14th November saw many friends and supporters of Counselling Together gather to celebrate how Chris Bray had been led by God to set up a Church based Christian Counselling Service for the New Forest and surrounding area. Over 20 years later the charity has been running for 12 years, now offering 1,000 counselling sessions a year with 70 clients being counselled during this year.
On the occasion of his retirement Chris reflected that “Counselling Together seems to be unique nationally. It is a God given way of running a Christian Counselling service, in a rural setting, combining help for those suffering from emotional problems with the opportunity for local churches to work in unity and to own the service through trusteeship and financial support. We now need even more churches to catch the vision and to get behind the new management team, to ensure Counselling Together’s survival and indeed to grow this very valuable resource”.
